Grade 6 students took to Baker Street Friday, December 13th to sing holiday songs and bring cheer around town. Trafalgar Middle Schools' Grade 6 team took their classes into the community to share a bit of music with their local businesses, neighbours, and friends.

As prepared as the ‘Traf Staff’ was to take on the West Kootenay Boys and Girls Volleyball Champions… they did not succeed. But they brought the positivity and team spirit! What a fun opportunity to see our students shine yet again.

Trafalgar Middle School spikes it again. Both girls’ & boys’ volleyball teams came out strong and secured 1st place in Monday’s West Kootenay Volleyball Tournament. Thanks to the dedication, passion, and commitment of our star volleyball coach Ms. Staci Proctor, the teams thrived, played hard, and won!

Trafalgar will be hosting the World Middle School Premiere of one of the biggest ski films of the year! Return to Send’er staring Trafalgar Alum Sam Kuch will be shown to the entire school on November 21. Sam will be on hand to present the film, that was shot largely in the Kootenay’s and will be sharing the story of his success and the challenges he had to overcome to become a pro-skiier.

The Hands on Science LLE was in the gym on the Wednesday graphing the decibel levels as the Thunder Volleyball teams took on St. Joseph.

We celebrated the high holiday of middle school in fine fashion. Pumpkin carving, door decorating, indoor track meet and the famous Trafalgar Costume Parade.

Mme. Rozee’s 8-2 class is the most recent recipient of one of British Columbia’s most successful educational programs. Last week, they met little Avery! She will be joining them every three weeks and as she grows, she’ll evoke curiosity, interest, self-reflection, and empathy in the Grade 8s who will get to know her. Fun facts:

Trafalgar students took their thinking caps out of the classroom and out to the streets of Nelson to join this year’s Moose Hide Campaign walk. We are so proud of students for standing in solidarity!

TAG 6-1 would like to  send un grand merci to Save-On Foods for donating ingredients for our successful bake sale. We were able to donate over $100 to the Food Cupboard after our sale of pear and apple clafoutis! Students picked the fruit with Harvest Rescue and also dehydrated some of it to donate. Thanks also to all the parents who loans us their dehydrators!
