Lauren Wilkinson, the rowing Olympian, came to speak to the grade 6s and the Rowing LLE participants yesterday. Students got to try a sprint together on the rowing machine in teams of 15 and they passed around her silver medal from the London Olympics. Afterwards students from the Rowing LLE got to hang out with her while trying their hand at rowing for the first time on the water.

Grade 6 studenetsfrom Trafalgar Middle School took their learning on the road Thursday morning - literally. 

Pedestrians and parents were treated to a public display of learning as 140 students 'flash mobbed' the 400Block of Baker Street.

Environmentalist Sheila Street from the BC Ministry of Environment presented to Ms. Comrie’s 8-5 students on hydrofluorocarbons and the consequences of oil spills on our environment. Students had the opportunity to use a variety of materials to experiment with soaking up a simulated oil spill. What did they find? PLASTIC works the best! Why?
