Trafalgar is pleased to annoucne the launch of the Thunder Muscle Website. 

The site was developed by Trafalgar Eduacation Assistant and Assistant Basketball coach Misha Chernoff to help students maintain their fitness and build their strength while not being physically in school.

Today Trafalgar celebrated Pi day with it's First Annual Pi reading contests.  

22 Students from all grades faced off in an irrational test of memoraization and reciting of the digits of pi. 

The contest was organized and led by Grade 8 teacher Mr. Geddis.  

The challenge was won by Teo Ried who reached 133 digits.

Grade 8 art students have been working on leaving Trafalgar more beautiful then they found it. Part of this project has resulted in additional signage around the school.

To celebrate all the Grade 7's that have been doing a tremendous job of building each up teachers treated them to a school cooked breakfast and a trip to Ainsworth Hotsprings, with a stop at Kokanee Park on the way back.

Trafalgar marked Pink Shirt Day with a school wide celebration of kindness. 

Students and staff shared stories, poety, videos and dramatic performaces about resilience, kindess and bullying.

A month long cross-cultural learning experience wrapped up in exciting fashion at the Chako Mika Mall yesterday.  Grade 6s and 7s from Trafalgar Middle School showed off the projects that they have been working on with their new classmates from Kunming, China and students they have been mentoring from elementary schools in the area.

The makerspaces here at Trafalgar have been extra busy the last couple of weeks.  Grade 6 and 7’s have been working with our international students from Kunming China as well as Grade 4 and 5 students from the Nelson family of schools on a wide range of hands on learning projects.

Wendy McIntyre, Grade 8 student at Trafalgar, has a passion for writing. Upon connecting with local journalist Tyler Harper, Wendy was encouraged to write her first article and have it published by the Nelson Star itself. 

Not only this, but Wendy got to interview local ski prodigy Sam Kuch!

The students in Mr. Mieske's Grade 6 class are all about inclusion and that has attracted a lot of attention from the local media.
