Normaly at this time of year we would be welcoming elementary students from across the Nelson Family of Shools to come and spend time with us at Trafalgar, sharing our facilities and showcasing the way we learn and play at Middle School.  The pandemic has made this challenging, so we have put together a little video for the Grade 5s gearing up to transition in the fall.  

Meet some former students from  Hume, SNES, Redfish, St. Joes, Wildflower and Blewett schools as they share what they love about Trafalgar.

Covid 19 has changed how much of the world does things, but it hasn't stopped the learning and fun at TMS!  

We haven't haven't had as many opportunities to show off what we have been doing to the community.

The Trafalgar staff and I had a great discussion at our meeting yesterday afternoon about what an amazingTrafalgar community we have.  We are so lucky to have such wonderful parents, students, and staff.  We have been well supported by the SD 8 Board Office and the community of Nelson.  We are so grateful to be able to witness this first- hand every day and experience the joy that it brings to our learning journey.  We wish you were here! Today Mme. Rozee's class hosted Trafalgar's first ever virtual Rememberance Day Ceremony.  It was watched by all classes in their classrooms and featured pre recorded poetry readings,  a presentation from the legion and a drone filmed performance of O'Canada by the Trafalgar Concert Band.

On October 16 Mme. Machado's class hosted a virtual all candidates forum in advance of the BC Provincial Election.

On this episode 3 Grade 8 co-hosts join Mr. Bendig to take you on an audio journey of few of the things happening at Trafalgar Middle School.  Minecraft Education, bike repair, Grade 6 band, and of course students and staff building each other up. 

Students return - the same but different...

Students are back in the classrooms of Trafalgar Middle.  On this episode we hear from some of them about their transition back.  We also hear about a contest for Orange Shirt Day, whats going on in the Makerspace and we introduce the first installment of Thunderclaps! 

In this video Principal Mr. Luck discusses the safety protocols in place at Trafalgar, and takes you on a tour of the school to see what they look like in action.
