Ms. DeBiasio's Grade 8 class participated in a meaningful Remembrance Day learning experience. Students spent time exploring Canada’s involvement in past wars and reflecting on what it truly means to be a veteran. As part of this work, they wrote postcards to veterans of the Second World War—many of whom are now in their late 90s and living in care homes.

We have already heard how delighted the veterans were to receive the heartfelt messages from Trafalgar students. Their words of gratitude and kindness were deeply appreciated, offering a touching reminder of the lasting impact of even small gestures.

For many students, this was also their first time mailing a letter, adding a memorable and personal element to the experience. It was a powerful opportunity for students to connect with history, express gratitude, and honour those who served.
